Covid-19: 38 more die, 2,198 test positive in 24hrs

Bangladesh reported 38 new deaths from the novel coronavirus infection in a daily count, taking the total to 6,713.

Another 2,198 new coronavirus patients are found in 24 hours, raising the total number of infections to 469,423.

A press release of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) made the disclosure on Wednesday afternoon.

Health authorities reported another 2, 562 people recovered from the disease in a day, rising the total number of recoveries to 385,786.

A total of 15,972 samples were tested at 118 authorized laboratories across the country during the time.

Of the total sample tests in the past 24 hours, 13.76 percent tested positive, while 16.74 percent cases were detected from the total tests conducted so far, the release added.

Among the total infections, 82.18 percent patients have recovered, while 1.43 percent died so far since the first COVID-19 positive cases were reported in the country on March 8.
